Review
So, I come online to discover that Pokemon Ranch was finally, and absolutely, released.
I begged and pleaded with my mother, and after a large brouhaha {gotta love that word} she agreed to buy 1,000 Wii Point {10 American Dollars} so that I could purchase it.
Immediately after the downloading process and going through dialogue from the ranch's own, Hayley, I was almost blown away by the cuteness... All the Pokemon are put into chibi forms, and their cries are altered to sound really high, squeaky, and just plain adorable.
The main purpose of PR is to have basically another storage system. Beware though that the Ranch is just like the Daycare in Diamond or Pearl - you can't use that Pokemon in anything else if it is deposited into the Ranch. You can always withdraw them back if you need them, though.
There is also a neat feature where Hayley tells you 3-4 Pokemon that you are missing from your Pokedex, and it is your job to go find them. She puts up wanted posters for them, and tips on where/how to catch them.
Conclusively, there is the picture function. You can select the 'Look This Way' button, and all Pokemon in the frame at that moment will look in your direction. Then you can go snap happy and take as many pictures as you like. Pictures can be posted on Wii Message Boards and sent to SD cards.
PR also has a Wi-Fi connection where you can visit other friends' ranches and vice versa.
Hayley will give you a clue everyday about the Pokemon arriving the next day, and everyday she brings a new Pokemon to the ranch. {Tomorrow I'll be getting Raichu.}
So, overall, this is a cute game... Some flaws, but a great way to store those extra Pokemon you don't use but are too sad to let go of.
